Sunday Bible Study
We have begun a new Bible study centered on what it means to be the Church from a Biblical perspective, and what that means for us at Concordia Maplewood. This will be a great opportunity to discuss how we will be putting to use the gifts that God has given us here for the sake of spreading the Word as we love and serve our neighbor. Hope to see you there!
Men’s Group (Thursday Morning)
Our men’s group meets Thursday morning at 7:00 AM for donuts, coffee, fellowship, and the Augsburg Confession. Feel to drop by the church, or contact office@concordiamaplewood.org for more information.
Women’s Group (Thursday Evening)
Our womenโs group will be meeting on Saturdays at 10am at the church. We are studying the books of John. All are welcome to join us for friendship, prayer, and yummy treats. Please contact office@concordiamaplewood.org for more information.
Faith Formation at Village Lutheran Church in Ladue (Wednesday Evening)
As part of our shared ministry, you are welcome to join in the Faith Formation nights on Wednesday evenings. There is a meal at 5:00 (provided by the Church), followed by various studies for both adults and catechesis for children. Please contact Pastor Johnson at lutheranerik@gmail.com or the office at office@concordiamaplewood.org. for more information. Currently, Pastor Johnson is teaching on the Epistle to the Ephesians during the adult Bible study.
WashU Student Outreach
If you are in collage or of college age, we invite you to join Pastor Johnson in the Millstone Lounge of the Danforth Student Center on the WashU campus for our Lutheran Student Fellowship Bible Study 1t 7:00 PM on Tuesday nights. We continue to work through the Gospel of Luke. This is a great chance not only to dwell in the word, but also to do so in a manner that helps us to bring the light of Christ to those who might not yet know Him on the WashU campus. For more information, please speak to Pastor Johnson.
We love to have visitors. In our desire to care for everyone on a personal level, we ask that visitors speak to the pastor before taking communion. It is our goal to make sure nobody gets lost in the crowd.
The worship service reaches beyond the here and now. We use songs and prayers that are focused on Jesus, what He has done, and what He continues to do for His people across space and time. To misquote a great writer, “tradition is the majority vote from those who have passed before us to the minority of us who are living.”* Therefore we find it wise to patiently examine what we do with what the massive majority of saints before us have done and what legacy we want to pass on to future generations.
A dress code for Sunday is not our focus (although clothing is not optional since we’re no longer in the Garden of Eden!). We simply ask that clothing be considerate of others.
Parking – Places to park include the church parking lot along with the parking lot next to Schlafly Bottleworks to the east and the Citizen’s National Bank Park to the west. Handicap parking is provided on Marshall Ave. next to the church building.
